Privacy Policy

Undone (the "App") is developed and maintained by an independent developer. We believe privacy is a fundamental right, so the App was built with a privacy-first principle from day one: no private servers, no collection, storage, or upload of any personal information or to-do data.

This Privacy Policy explains clearly how the App handles information related to you. If you have any questions, please reach out via the contact information at the bottom of this page.

Short answer: Almost nothing

The App does not collect any of the following:

• Your name, email address, phone number, or other personally identifiable information
• The content of any to-do items, list names, or notes you create
• Your location
• Device identifiers such as IDFA or advertising IDs
• Usage behavior data (e.g., clickstreams, session duration) for third-party analytics

Crash & Diagnostic Reports (System-level, Optional)

If you have enabled "Share with App Developers" in your Mac's System Settings, Apple may forward anonymized crash logs to us to help identify and fix technical issues. This data is collected and anonymized by Apple — we cannot access your identity through it. You can disable this at any time in System Settings → Privacy & Security → Analytics & Improvements.

Reminders Access (EventKit)

The App requires your permission to access the macOS Reminders app via Apple's EventKit framework, in order to read and write your to-do data.

• Read: Display your to-do items from each list in the menu bar and desktop widgets
• Write: Allow you to create, edit, or complete to-do items through the App, syncing changes back to Apple's system

All data is processed locally via Apple's official EventKit framework and never passes through any third-party servers. You may revoke this permission at any time in System Settings → Privacy & Security → Reminders.

Calendar Access (Optional)

If you choose to enable calendar integration, the App will access your calendar events in read-only mode to display today's schedule in the menu bar panel. This permission is also handled locally via EventKit and can be revoked in System Settings at any time.

Local-First Principle

All your to-do data is stored in the following locations and never passes through Undone's servers:

• Your Mac: Data is stored in macOS's native Reminders database
• Apple iCloud: If you have iCloud sync enabled, Apple handles encrypted transmission and syncing across your devices

iCloud sync is managed by Apple and governed by the Apple Privacy Policy, which is separate from this App.

App Preferences

The App stores your preferences locally (e.g., theme, sort order, global shortcut keys). These settings are saved only on your Mac and are never uploaded to any server.

Third-Party Services Used in the App

The App does not integrate any third-party advertising SDKs, user behavior analytics platforms, or social network trackers. The limited external services used are:

• Apple App Store (Payments & Subscriptions): Pro version purchases and subscription management are handled entirely through Apple's official StoreKit framework. We never handle your payment information directly. Governed by the Apple Privacy Policy.
• CoreML (On-Device Machine Learning): The smart quadrant prediction feature uses a CoreML model that runs entirely on your device. No internet connection is required, and no data is sent externally.

The App is not directed at children under 13 years of age, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you are a minor, please use the App under the supervision of a parent or guardian.

If we make material changes to this Privacy Policy, we will update the content on this page and revise the "Last updated" date. We encourage you to review this page periodically. Continued use of the App after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
